Catholic, charter member of Sacred Heart, later Corpus Christi church. In 1870 a dealer in furniture, Resturant owner, and originator of Railway depot restaurants and dining car services. Early benefactor of many later prominent persons including Thomas Alva Edison. Died of lobar pneumonia with arterial sclerosis and dilated left ventrical, Ohio file #27211. He had a second marriage to Laura Ferree and a step-daughter, Ruth Ferree.
