Catholic. The family story says he and his brother Antoine Jean Michel migrated to the United States in 1837; Joseph returned to France in 1850 to fetch his brother Michel in 1850 and returned with him. There is no further record. About this time a Joseph Lobsinger appears in the records in Ontario, Canada. This Joseph had four sons; Louis, Peter, Joseph, and Jacob Anthony. This descendancy is being proven by the Publisher of the Newkirk, Oklahoma newspaper. The descendancy includes Thomas Lobsinger, the Bishop of Whitehorse, Yukon Territory, Canada. |
