Joseph Sosey, 83, lifelong resident of this city, died at 2:30 o'clock yesterday ....at his home, 237 Leader st. His death, believed due to ...of ...followed an illness of..years duration. Five months ago Mr. Sosey suffered a fracture of the right leg when he fell at his house. He never fully recovered from the injury.

Funeral services are to be held at 2 o'clock Tuesday afternoon at the residence, with Dr. I. D. Darling, former pastor of Wesley M. E. church, in charge. Interment will be in Marion cemetery.

With the exception of 18 months, Mr. Sosey had resided in Marion all his life. He was born here July 12, 1845, the son of Joseph and Laura Harwood Sosey. His father was a native of Baltimore, Md. and his mother was of Pennsylvania. Mr Sosey was married twice, his first wife, Mrs. Phoebe Coons Sosey, and several children preceding him in death a number of years ago. His second marriage on Oct. 4 1898 was to Miss Margaret Crossan. She survives him. Mr. Sosey was a member of Wesley M. E. church and had been employed as a molder at the Huber Manufacturing Co.

Surviving with the widow, are two daughters, Miss Rose Sosey, of Columbus, and Miss Katheryn Sosey, at home, two sons, Joseph Sosey, of Columbus, and Charles Sosey, of Cuba, Ill; a grandson, Robert Edward Sosey, at home, a sister, Miss Emeline Sosey, 122 Olney av, and a brother, Charles Lewis Sosey, 267 Silver av. A son, Edward Sosey, five sisters and three brothers, in addition to the wife and children of the first marriage, preceded him in death.</transcription></metadataxml>
