Graduate of the Hills Academy, Portland, Oregon and San Jose State College. His working career in charitable organizations included the National Foundation March of Dimes in CAlifornia, Oregon and Washington, and was a regional director for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation; working with Jonas Salk, Jerry Lewis, and Nelson Rockefeller. Died of a heart attack while on a fly-fishing trip. An Elks memorial service was held in Seguim, Washington on 11 May 1992.
