Catholic. Graduated Argyle High School in Minnesota. Arrived in Alaska in 1915. Operator of a shell fish cannery. Mayor of Petersburg 1920, 1930 and 1931. President of Chamber of Commerce a total of 20 years. Chairman of Alaska Fish and Game Commission for 23 years. In 1952 he was named "most valuable man in Alaska" Adopted by and elected a chief of the Eagle clan of the Khlinklet tribe in Alaska as "Takwahtan". SS# 574-01-1462. AK death certificate #9852; died at home on F Street of a coronory thrombosis. After his death, Loyla marrried Eiler Wikan.
