Catholic; Married by Rev. J. M. Hughes, a Prespreterian minister. First Baptist church in 1903. Originally named Francis; "J" was added at first communion at St Joseph Catholic church; changed to "James" when confirmed by Bishop Purcell in Cincinnati, Ohio; used "Frank" in later years. Entered service at Cincinnati Ohio as a Cabin Boy on 29 August 1864, discharged as a seaman on 28 July 1865 at St. Louis, Missouri. Service record shows four assignments; the longest on the Peosta; an desertion from the Abeona, with the desertion later reversed. Final pension payment of $13.50 was made on 4 March 1914. Resident until 1871; Port Hudson, Louisiana, to 1874; Dayton, Ohio to 1879; Fort Worth, Texas to 1884; Weatherford Texas to April 1903; then to Dayton. Member of the Odd Fellows lodge, initiated into IOOF on 22 January 1891. Painter. Married at the probate court office.Died at 3 AM of Cerebral apoplexy. Texas death certificate #8617.
