In Minnesota he operated a 1,400 acre wheat farm and conducted experiments for the Minnesota Department of Agriculture. President of Argyle board of education. Developed OHMER Park which was platted by his father, Nicholas. Request for annexation of the 108 acres of high farmland by Dayton in 1905, was approved in 1907. Died at 7:40 PM of cerebral hemorrhage from arterioclerosis and hypertension at his residence. Ohio death certificate #61534. The 1910 census gives his age as 52 and his spouse as as age 52 with five children age 12 to 27. His second daughter, Carrie, had already married.
