Catholic, baptized on 17 April 1823, with Nicolas Ohmer and Elisabeth Vilth (second wife of Nicolas Floquet) as sponsers. Marriage sponsers were Jacob Fellows and Maria Ohmer. Horticulturist. A founder of Calvary Cemetary in Dayton, Ohio. Acquired 108 acres of hardwood land in 1857 which he cultivated and in 1889 platted as OHMER Park. He built his home there in 1864 where he entertained Gov. Rutherford B. Hayes. 12 years as president of the Ohio Horticutural Society. Associated with his brother George as operators of hotels and lunch rooms in Columbus and Xenia, Ohio; Indianapolis, Terre Haute, and Lafayette, Indiana; East St. Louis.
