Catholic. He was a master cabinet maker. Family legend said he was with the German Navy when he jumped ship and deserted at Mobile Alabama. Before moving north he did cabinetry in the Alabama state capitol building. His buriel was from St. Joseph RC Church directed by Francis V. Kloecker, mortician. In his will he gave $200 to both St. Joseph Church and St. Joseph Home for children. He left nothing to his sister, Maria Meyer, in Munich, Germany. She was divorced and he had sent support over a period of years. He left $50 to his Godson, Gerard E. Ohmer. His residual estate went in 1/6th shares to two nephews, Carl Dallmeyer and Irvin Martin, and to four nieces, Marian May Hogenmiller, Theodora May Bleil, Louise C. Bloomstine and Delores Martin Zurn. He named his nephew, Ralph C. Bloomstine Executor. He also stipulated that Carl Dallmeyer had the option to purchase his residence at fair market value. |
