Catholic. Speyer birth page #373; Marriage is recorded on page #207. The Marriage Chart on page #138 shows full birth, marriage and death dates for Johannes and his wife who is on page #81. See the estates recorded in 1755 and 1783. There was no settlement until after the death of his spouse, Barbara Kuntz. The couple had not provided a will or disposition. A family council was formed consisting of his brother, Martin OHMER, and six of Barbara's nephews. On 23 December 1783 the council named one nephew, Valentin EICHENLAUB, as guardian for the minor children. The Mayor, Valentin Dudenhoffer, a member of the Court of Justice, Hans Adam Flick, and Barbara's brother, Johannes served as witnesses to the family council. In the family council, Valentin voted for Martin OHMER to be guardian for the minor children. The other six voted for Valentin. Identifiable assets are mentioned as assigned to each surviving child. When the estate of Barbara Kuntz was completed in 1785 eight children signed (Georg Joseph was still absent). The council decided that no houses were to be sold. One house in the Löhrgass valued at 700 Gulden (225 Gulden in 1782) to Caspar and Catherine; a house with a value of 350 Gulden to Christoph (but 30 Gulden to be given to the Church for perpetual masses), and one house valued at 450 Gulden was left to Georg Joseph and Maria Eva. Compensation to the others was by farm land or French gold louis d'or to equalize the distribution. Christoph and Johann Adam disagree on this distribution and it was referred to the Court of Justice. The children are each shown as three years older in the disposition of September 1785. This record shows Maria Eva married to Andre Meyer; Catharina to Francois Carl Detzel; and, Margaretha to Nicolas Detzel. The IGI parent record shows CUNTZ, CUNTZIN and KUNTZIN; The couple appear to have moved to Buechelberg after 1765; a son, daughter and grandson were born there between 1768 and 1770. |
