This is Edna Bourgeois VERRET, my great-grandmother, and her brother Alcide Bourgeois, my great-granduncle. The truck they are sitting on is Alcide’s, and is loaded down with spanish moss, which was collected from trees and then boiled and dried.  The moss was then used to stuff mattresses, furniture, and even car seats. The original was in black and white, but I repaired the image and sepia toned it in Adobe Photoshop. The year and location of the photo is unknown.
